If you know, did the verticaly-stacked headlights come before or after this model? (I'm guessin' after) because I pass one in someone's yard on my way to work every day, looks restorable, but like I have the time? or the cash? HA!

After. Immediately after, if I'm not mistaken. '77-'79, but don't quote me on that (unless it's right, then quote me by all means).

That one and another one that had been COMPLETELY stipped to the bed and cab in a local scrapyard are the only two of em' I've ever seen. That makes sense if 76' was the last year for this light arrangement, up untill then, I think regulations mandated circular headlights, when they dropped that, a lot of cars had square lights the next year to give their cars a "futuristic" look, the Trans AM sported squares for the first time in 77',

Actually, this ISN'T Ford's "Version" of the El Camino. The Ranchero appeared in '57, whereas the El Camino came out in '59. Since this was the first American type of vehicle of this type in America, it really isn't a version of anything...except maybe the Aussie 'Utes...which were around for a bit before '57 from what I understand.

rare. I think the Camino out sold the Ranchero. The Camino I think had better lines.

Now...if that Ranchero runs perfectly, I would LOVE to have that truck pull up to my driveway and the driver say, "I've got this delivery for you, from a mysterious stranger."
