This is first class work, BTW. I'm impressed. How'd you do the upper radiator hose?

I want a Black on Black model, but I suck at them. Probably take me a few times.

Spray painted it Testors flat black, then, with it between my fingers, ran a silver fine detail paint marker around both ends, for the body, sometimes I actualy used black auto touch up paint from the parts store

Wow. That's cool. But what I meant was.. it came with the kit? Most of that kind of stuff has to be done custom. How big is the model?

The model is 1:24, the radiator hose was a stock part, I don't add any stock parts, but I do a lot of super detail paint work, like painting the caps on the battery and the chrome trim on the fenders, the manual never mentions to do them, but if doesn't look right without it

Thanks, If anyone really cares, convertibles are the toughest, because you have to do the passenger compartment, and this was a well-done model to start with, it had both upper and lower radiator hoses and the steering box, the Super Bee had just the engine block and upper hose, nothing else.....

#29, Well, I will take requests........ I have a 77' Trans Am and an 87' GN model up on the site here somewhere, this Camaro, the Super Bee is in assembly, and I just got the paint to do the one I have in a box right now, 69' Baldwin Motion Phase III vette! Then I can do a black on black....

I'd like to do this sort of thing, but I'm too klutzy to put together actual models, so I paint die-casts instead. Right now I'm painting an M3 as an M3-GTR.

#32, The best thing you can do is be paitient, this took about 3 weekends of work to pull off, go slow, pay attention to detail, cut and paint carefully, and you'll be fine, but then again, I've been building these since I was 12 or 13

#33, I'm starting pretty simple. I dunno if you've seen the M3-GTR but it's hardly a Picasso.

I've only built a few. I was good at the assembling, but the painting I sucked at.

Yeah, I've done great only to butcher a few in the paint job process, but the only way to learn is to do it

For extra fine details, like battery cell caps, pinstripes, dash bezels, etc, you can't do without a good set of paint markers, and if nessicarry, I dab paint on w/ the end of a toothpick, and have a rag on hand so if I fuck up, I can wipe it off fast before it sets up

Well, hope you all like 1st gen F-bodies. I have a 68' Firebird 400 that's about 70% complete here, even went out and bought GM-approved "pontiac engine blue" paint for it..... at $4 for about 1.5ozs, I hope it turns out well
