Description:
Here's an in-car shot from the Ferrari. Because it's a small shot, you can't really see the detail, but it's amazing. The car ahead is an Eagle, and note in the mirror, there are fingerprints around the edges... :) |

This is the 36. The 48v has separate mirrors instead of ones that are faired into the body of the car. I think this one looks better.

I wish they'd redo those arms, the ones that came with the game look so gimpy.

They've cleaned them up somewhat, but there still arent' enough hexes to make them truly realistic...

#6, It's especially bad in these open-wheeled cars, because you have to model the whole tire.

#5, Well, at least they're improving a bit--run some of the older PC racing games, and you'll be wondering how cars can move with square wheels :-)

#6, Indeed. I mean, how many polys do you need to make a wheel appear round?! Even with higher-order surfaces (newer cards support them), the hardware would still bear the brunt of an insane level of tesellation to make it look good..

how can they make the steering wheel round and the mirrors round, but not the tires?
