Are whitewalls like this just painted on? OR are they part of the rubber compound? I mean, if you scuff a curb with one of these, do you scuff off the color?

#8, My dad has "white wall polish" for the tires on his DeSoto....so I imagine you can't "rub off the color" if you're supposed to polish the whitewall...

I saw a show yesterday with this in it... it's in some museum and the guy that cleans it and takes care of drives it around, he says its a bitch to drive... hard to see out of, real unresponsive, and is a real rough ride. I'd still take it tho :)
