390 CI, all this crap, light car, still only 14.3? Seems kinda slow. No way it takes a GTO, Roadrunner etc. like the ad claims.

Any GTO, Roadrunner, or Mach 1? Heh, sorry, nothing against AMC, but this ad is funny as hell. Proves advertisers playing off of people's ignorance is nothing new.

Gee maybe theres a reason no one bought one. 383 Mopar would take that thing and look twice as cool doing it.

Then again it cost $2998. What do you expect for that?

And I just realized....ANY GTO, Roadrunner, or Mach 1? ANY?

'69 Roadrunner 440+6 package: 12.91
'67 GTO 4 speed: 13.90
'69 Mustang Mach 1 428: 13.56

All these cars were around when the SC/Rambler was around.

#5, I guess they were hoping no one would notice. I also guess that's why AMC is long gone.

did all of AMC's ads try to demoralize the compedition?

14.3 wasn't a bad time, and for the money, it was quite good. A Nova with a 350/300hp engine couldn't match that time and cost more.

#7, AMC's Muscle car division was on it's last legs in the late 60's early 70's, guess they were desparate for customers
