Description:
my motor city online car right now. I can only pull a 15.2 on the 1/4 mile... a 283 with a 2 speed auto and only 260horses isn't the most exciting ride... I've only won one online drag race so far. |

yeah, you get a starter car for free... a 50s beater... I poured $4k of MCO money into it so far... not a bad way to waste yer time... they started to put some imports in there too *gasp*... luckily no Hondas... yet... though I could imagine them bowing down to the current 'trend' |

#4 - yep... I agree. Seem to be a lot of people online though... first 30 days are free, after that it is $9.95 a month. Haven't decided if I'll keep it up... |

#5, and I despise "pay to play" either the game it's self should be free and then the monthly fee or a slightly higher priced game then free online pay |

EA ruined this game. It had serious potential. Look at how popular the "Street Rod" games were in the early '90s. But they didn't want to make it a game, no matter what the customers want: It's not a game now, it's an "online gearhead community". Or in other words, a few chat rooms that you happen to be able to race in. And pay $10 a month for the "priviledge" of doing so. No thanks.
And I love their excuse for adding "imports": "Motor City has never been about one particular type of car or time period, it's for all car enthusiasts". Last time I checked, Motor City was supposed to be a hot-rodding simulator celebrating classic American cars. It's just a last desperate gasp for more players since the game has so far completely tanked. |

#11 - it's not that bad of a game per se... but the $10/mo is kinda stiff for what you can do on-line... would have been more fun if you could actually drive through the city and meetup with other people to race... kinda like GTA3 online. |

It pissed me off, since I was one of the 30,000 that signed the petition to keep an offline mode in it. I've also decided to stop buying EA products until an offline version or at least a patch or something is released.
Someone ought to "mod" the game, like how they make Counter Strike out of Half Life. Program some AI and make "Motor City Offline". |

Motorcity has no cruisin - which is what I was hoping for. Drag Racing and Circle track racing online with other people. The best part is the car modifications - pretty close to real life changes. You can buy different blocks, cranks, cams, pistons, heads, headers, tires, etc and see how it effects your ET.
Multiple car brands and classic cars... neat idea, just needs to be executed better. |
