Description:
The engine of my car after installing an upper strut brace and tie bars and steam cleaning. Not bad for an old Volvo inline 4.

I'd drive a Volvo. The engines have more balls than your usual family car and I'm told they're built solid as bricks and never squeak or rattle.

Holy shit, this looks EXACTLY like mine, except I have blue wires instead of red. Other than that I would swear it's the same car.

Well, now I see this one is a two door and a year older. Exact same color, though.

#3, sorry bout that. btw, here is the pic of the whole car: 18104

#4, I love my car. Even with a 1500 watt system, my car doesn't rattle. And it already outruns Si Civics and keeps with Type R integras.

#5, sweet, do u get your stuff from IPD too?

#7, I'm not familiar with IPD. Do they sell performance products (my car is stock)?

#2, Basicly a steam clean is just a process that removes all the crap thats built up over the years on an engine. I'm actually not sure what they did in this process, because afterwards my whole car smelled like toxic chemicals for about 2 weeks.

#8, thats where i got the strut brace and tie bars as well as all my other suspension mods. Go to www.ipdusa.com for an online catalog. They have great stuff and exelent customer service. Their people know everything about every Volvo ever made.

#10, Nice. I'll take a look at that.

My car really needs more power, but nobody seems to make anything for the Volvo 4 that doesn't involve turbocharging. >_<

#13, Cool. Never thought to find that little detail out. Probably explains why people sometimes swap v8s in, though.

#14, Indeed. I've already decided that if I ever lose the Volvo 4 a 5 liter is going in there. >:) Cheaper parts and more power.

#11, I know what you mean. Turbocharging it would require building an engine that could handle it. It would be cheaper to swap an engine from a turbo model and then building that up. IPD offers some other good options for people like us. Here is another good site: http://www16.brinkster.com/towerymt/links.html

#12, yes.

#15, A Ford small block fits in perfectly. A Chevy 350 can also be swapped in. IPD has a book on how to do it too.

Anyone remember seeing the "Sweedish Corvette" where they stuffed an LS1 into one of these?

#18, Damn, I wanna do that. I want to get the entire Corvette driveline in another Volvo, (this one stays the way it is)
