OUCH. That was painful. And I'll bet this is a fun car to drive in a country full of Saabs and Volvos.

I'd rather have a GT 350 than a GT 500 anyday! these things are far more impressive! they made around 320HP with a 289! the GT 500s had a Basicly stock 428 with 345HP what's the deal with that???

Well, that's a no-brainer. Let's see, a fast car that handles, or a fast car that doesn't. Gee, which WILL I pick?

Actually the GT 500s weren't all that fast! avg run in one would be in the low 14s, with better tires maybe high 13s

not when considering you could get a Six Pack Road Runner or a 454 Chevelle that would both rnu Low 13s and cost a lot less!

i'd probably pick 350 too. altho with a 428 GT500, i could get 100 more HP out of stock without things sticking out of the hood. but these are shelbys we are talkiing about. i dont want to put edelbrock in them!

Yeah, you could, but the GT350 would kick the beans out of them on a road course, which was what it was really built for. GT500... probably would still win on a road course, but the advantage wouldn't be nearly so much. Actually, for performance, I wouldn't take any of them. I'd get a base-model car, then mod the shit out of it, unconcerned about losing collector value. Actually, come to think of it, that's what I did.

the Barracuda won Canandian Nation Rally in 1965 and SCCA in 1966 :-p

which has nothing to do with any of these posting I just like to kick that around because I own one LOL

HOW IN THE HELL DO SWEDES ALWAYS END UP WITH NICE CARS? All the nicest classic cars I see on the Internet or in friggin' Sweden! Oh, and guys, cool it on the Volvo bashing, m'kay? (/Volvo driver).

Yeah, Hertz ended up with a lot of junk six bangers and a lot of red-faced explanations to the CEO

Well, I know the Europeans got a '71 Shelby GT350 that we didn't.... one of the Mustang dealers came up with a deal with Carroll Shelby to build a few. There were like twenty built. Insanely valuable now, of course.

I guess, since the "winter" in Sweden mostly is about putting as much salt as possible on the roads causing the cars to rust, we need to have really nice cars to drive in the summer. And swedes are like 60% Volvo drivers...so back off ;)
