Boy, Javelins sure were ugly. I'd still own one, though.

I've always thought these would look better WITHOUT the front fender humps

Yes, and if they were a little shorter.

Well, the front fenders hanging over the wheels a bit is sort of a 70's car trademark, especialy in the big boats, like the Lincolns and Mercurys, there was like 4 feet of front fender that went by before you got to the wheels.

I meant if the whole car was shorter. It looks like it's stretched out way too much, especially around the doors. Maybe the back wheels should be farther up....

Yeah, I know. It does look better when it's shortened a bit. Too bad AMC didn't see it the same way....oh well.

Yeah... actually, pictures 1959-1974 all match up to the year of the car in the picture.

wasn't it the Javelin that came out with this style in 1967, then the mustang afterwards, so the correct statement would be, the mach 1's always looked like Javelins, or I could be insane again

I know that, the Javelin came out with style in 67, then I think it was 68or 69 the mustang came out with the fastback style, I was responding to Jon's comment of this car looking like a Mach 1, which should be the other way around

No, Mustangs had sort of a fastback style as early as 1965, but the "true" fastback came out in 1967. But Mopar had fastbacks earlier than that, with the Barracuda and the Charger.
