Apologies for the quality-it's at home, 150 miles from me, so I can't take another picture right now.

#1, Hey Lemming, at a flea market over the weekend, I saw a dark green "edge" Mustang GT 1/24 model
...looked just like yours, 'cept it didn't have the tri-star wheels...

#4, Nah, they're that silver-coated plastic stuff. The only paint on them is some of the translucent signal amber paint.

#6, Mostly the lighting makes it look bad. Still, I would've preferred if they'd made it in two pieces, with some clear plastic.

#7, No, because I suck at it. I'm better at other stuff where I can work on a larger scale (like Photoshop, where I can zoom in, 3d modelling, origami, etc.)

the only fox body kits I've found were the low rider, '90 GT convertable and a '93 cobra. might have to see if I can track down a cobra kit

This was supposed to be an '88 GT. Kit was by AMT/ERTL, I think.

Yeah, they were just the solid one-piece reflective plastic. Not even the kind where there's a plastic reflector that you put behind a lens.
