Description:
Talledega, 1996 - I saw this wreck happen on TV live and couldn't belive that Ricky Craven (in the 41 car) would walk away from it when it was all over. His car caught enough air to clip the very top of the catch fencing, and then fell almost 2 stories to the apron of the 31 degree banked track

#3, Considering this crash looked a lot more violent than the fatal one Dale Earnhardt was in, I'd say this is a pretty amazing feat of safety engineering and a bit of luck

#4, When a car is rolling, spinning, flipping, that motion is taking most of the impact. Dale's crash, his car just hit the wall and STOPPED.

I really don't remember this... probably since I only got into NASCAR in late 2000.

I saw this live also. I remember seeing him tumble down the hill after he went over the wall...and if I remember correctly, he didn't walk away, he was out about half a season from the injuries.
