Description:
Lee Roy Yarborough, no relation to NASCAR driver Cale from the same era, he was actualy the first driver to win the triple-crown of NASCAR, winning the Daytona 500, Coca-Cola 600 and Southern 500 in the same season. An accomplishment that is largely forgotten as at the time, there was no million dollar bonus for such a feat

Yarborough's career was meteoric in it's rise and fall, he first appeared on the NASCAR scene in the mid to late 60's and racked up a series of superspeedway wins driving for Junior Johnson, but by 72', multiple hard wrecks had seriously deteriorated his health and mental condition, forcing his retirement. He would later be sent to an institute where he died in 1984
