Description:
I don't want to start a massive NASCAR flame war - but your girlfriend must be really tolerant of you if you can coax her into wearing a nascar jacket (while you do the same) and walk about town thinking you're all that and a bag of planter's nuts.

#8, Late in 2002, JoeGibbsRacing decided to switch back to Chevy (they raced Chevys in the early and mid '90s)... This left Pontiac without any top-tier teams...they decided to cut their losses and drop out of NASCAR competition altogether for the 2004 season...people can still RUN Pontiacs, but they won't have any factory support.

Pontiac decided their racing budget could be used in better ways, for instance, taking the new GTO roadracing.

#10, Ricky Craven scored that fantastic close shave win at Darlington in the spring of 2003... (.003 second win margin, IIRC)

...and David Green won 3 races in 2003 in a Pontiac in the Busch Series.

Well, I guess it was eneivtable that GM would be down to 1 division in the race, seeing as they cut Buick and Oldsmobile out of the picture, I guess it was only a matter of time......

#12, It was estimated that both FoMoCo and Mopar each spent ~$75 million/year each in supporting their factory-backed teams, and in advertising... GM was spending about $100-125 million to support TWO MAKES in Cup racing...so it just makes sense.
