HELP ME PLEASE!!

BattleField 1942 problems
I recently bought Battlefield 1942 for the pc and it's really fun...but one problem, it keeps on freezing. It's driving me crazy, because I can't get a decent 20 minutes without this thing freezing and making me have to restart the computer all over again. The computer I own is way past the systems minimun and recomended stats.

Processor:1.3 GHz
Memory: 512MB ram
Video card: All-in-Wonder Radeon
Sound card: Direct Sound (Sound Blaster live! Wave out)
and I have 16.9GB free on the C drive

Everyone on the Help thing is saying turn off your firewall and anti-Virus programs. I did that, still nothing. They also said to change my "refresh rate for 0 to 1" and I have no clue where that is at..

Thanks for any help

Yep, I think I solved it. I put 2 huge fans in front of my tower and BAM! Runs like new!

From the articles that I've read, the Radeon has a problem with overheating. Something about the heatsink not sitting flush with the GPU core or something. You may want to look at getting an exhaust fan to install near the video card. I bought a Radeon 9700 Pro -- couldn't ever get it to work right, so I just sold it.

I love the Desert Combat mod for this game... much more fun than regular BF1942... it's like BF2 lite :D
