#5, Yeah, that is quite high for a beat-up old Charger...it's a sentimental price tag...

You are bidding on the First General Lee ever used by Warner Brothers during the filming of The Dukes of Hazzard. This car was rescued in 2001 from 23 years of neglect. This car is documented in every way and will come with every shed of paperwork from Warner Brothers and all pictures from 1978 to present. The car has been featured in countless magazines and can be seen on every model box and all of the toy boxes (wearing the uniform of The General Lee.) The First General Lee was featured as one of the Top 10 Mopars of the Year in Mopar Collectors Guide. Gary and I have decided to pass the torch and the new owners can decide whether to rebuild the General or keep it as a time capsule from 1978. Remember, this is the only true General Lee and everything else is a replica. The car has a clear Indiana Title and is a numbers matching Big Block (383). The 727 transmission is still in the car as is the rear end. The last time this car ran was Saturday November 11th, 1978 when Craig Baxley jumped it “over Rosco” in Oxford, Georgia, 82 feet. This footage was recycled into the opening credits for The Dukes of Hazzard and can just about be seen in every episode. Buyer will arrange transportation from Indianapolis to the new owners home. Cashiers check will be the preferred payment and we expect 50% down within 3 days of the Auctions completion. The remainder of payment must be in our possession before the title will change hands. Please email me with any questions and will reserve the right to end this auction at any time. In addition, if you are bidding on the car you are bidding on a piece of television history, we expect you to be a serious buyer.
