Description:
1993 GMC W-4
So I'm in the market for getting a new car, and I come across stuff like this, and I think to myself: "Is it really that impractical?" Speed is not one of my chief concerns, I like more to have (1) stuff nobody else has, and (2) general durability/reliability. In those aspects, I think that just driving a truck like this would be fun. I don't think the mileage would be THAT bad....

...and think of all the crap I could carry! I could park wherever I want, people would assume it's a maintenance truck! There's a lot of neat advantages towards driving something that people consider to be outside the realm of your "average" personal vehicle. It could be outfitted with all the creature comforts I like anyway. I think that as soon as my parents are fully out of the picture, I would consider it. It can't be that much different from driving a huge-ass pickup truck...and I like the overall 'weirdness factor.' As long as it can do highway travel okay, and fit in a normal parking spot, I say go for it.

#2, that's a damn good idea. Don't know if that would fit under the seats the same as a four-cylinder diesel though, but it would be a fun challenge to try

Oh, and I forgot the neat part. This was about $4500 to buy now on Ebay, sitting at $2000 right now, right where I live! I wonder how much more a van or a pickup truck of similar size costs in relation. As for insurance, I have no idea. There's probably some limitation or inconvenience I'm missing, but, the more I look at our current SUV trend, the more I realize that this is not really quite so bizarre.
