#8, Just wondering, but don't some shift kits cause transmissions to wear out faster due to the increased shift pressure? |

#9, maybe but i didn't have the kit in the second time i fired my tranny. my problem is coming from my non-lock up converter |

#10, I assume you've got some kind of cooler on there by now and still killed the tranny? |

#11, yep, but i think part of it was its just the 40 buck parts store one. plus the mountain i have to go up on the way back to PA is a bitch (which is where my heat problem started this time). then rolling hills afterwards would let it cool off. if i keep the car an auto, i'm going to get a bigger cooler with a fan |

#12, No intention of switching back to a lockup-type converter, then?
If you do decide to go manual, you might want to avoid the T5--if I recall correctly, you should already be at its maximum torque capacity--a couple hard launches on sticky tires and you'd probably damage it pretty badly. Heck, I managed to break one (different set of reasons, though). |

#13, A) i paid $500 for it and it was the cheaper of the two
B) to beef up the AOD you have to go to a 1 pice input shaft which means you can't use a lockup |

#14, Makes sense. I remember looking at AOD converters a while back when I still had the 'Bird. Rather expensive proposition, and I can't imagine putting one in just to take it back out again. |

#15, thats also one of the reasons i'm leaning towards built AOD since i would have no use for it if i went to a 5speed |
