Description:
From our family album (part 2 of 2).

I also managed to find a picture of my sister vacuuming under the hatch of our old '89 Camaro RS (305 TBI).

I always thought that was a beautiful car, but we didn't have it long. There were problems with the ignition, and it often liked to shut itself off when we came to a stop. Without warning, it would just get a lot quieter..

So, we only kept it for a year, then sold it and bought a 1990 Nissan Maxima SE (5-speed). That car was pretty good until we wrecked it with <1000 miles on the clock on the way back from the Gatornationals. We hit a Chevy Celebrity wagon--the guy was in a left turn lane and got tapped from behind and wound up sliding across the road into our lane. The Maxima was shortened about 6" and took over a month to repair. After we got it back, it was OK, but never quite the same. We traded it for a '91 auto Maxima, then a '96 auto, and now my mother drives a Z3.

#5, D'oh! Nah, those are still in place, and nobody's stolen them for their Civic. She complains that one of her seatbelt mounts is rattling or something, though. :-/

Oh, yeah--interestingly, my mother used to haul trees with this thing--she'd stick the root ball through the hatch and bungee it down. No kidding-the house we lived in at the time had a fairly barren 1/2 acre (perhaps more) lot, and she put about 30 trees in. Most of 'em were transported in the Camaro.

One thing I always really liked about the 3rd gen is the big rear hatch....you can haul damn near anything in one of these, especially with the rear seat down. I even fit a twin-sized mattress and box springs into mine once (though I did have to bungee it in and ride with the hatch up).
