Description:
Geforce 4 MX440 PCI graphics card. I just ordered this and should be getting it later this week. I know its not the best card on the market, but its a hell of a lot better than nothing, (which is what I have now.)

#2, I hear good things about the ATI Radeon 9000 series. Don't bother with other ATI cards though. They only just figured their shit out and came out on top with this series.

#4, Do they have a PCI version of it? I don't have an AGP slot. And my computer isn't really worth the best.

If I remember correctly, the Ti series was only released in AGP versions. And my brother uses this same exact card on his older K6 setup. Just keep the res around 800x600 and you'll see some decent FPS.

I've tried the ATI Radeon 9700 Pro in two of my computers and couldn't ever get it to work. Check out the Rage3D forums and you'll see people complaining about problem after problem. Have no idea why the Radeon cards get so much praise when there are only a select number of games/system-configurations that work without issues. I even bought a new power supply trying to get the 9700 Pro to work, but still no go.

Finally RMAed it to ATI thinking it was a bad card, got a new one in, it didn't work either. RMAed it, they mailed me a brand-new sealed card and I took it back to the store where I bought it. Now running a GeForce FX 5900 Ultra and have not had one single problem.

#9, hmmm...ok. Never heard that before. Thanx for the info. Guess I'll have to do a lot more research before buying my new computer this summer.

#10, Well there are a lot of people who stand by the Radeon line and insist they have not had any problems, but quite frankly, I don't intend on trying out another Radeon card. Perhaps it was just my system configurations (ABit KX7-333R/Athlon XP 3200+ and ABit BX133-RAID/Pentium 3-S 1.4GHz) that were incompatible, but that's still unacceptable if you ask me. Judging by the responses on the Rage3D forums anyhow, I don't believe I would have been satisfied with the card even if I did get the card working properly. From the looks of it, a lot of games require tweaking different settings. Screw that -- I want to just start the game up and play.

Maybe nVidia doesn't have the highest FPS... and maybe their DirectX9 implementation is a little bastardized, but I swear, every game I have tried has run without any problems or issues. And playing GTA at 1920x1440 is totally sweet. Anyway, just my 2 cents.
