Libery Ships were mass-produced merchant vessels built to shuttle cargo to Europe in WWII. With german submarines sinking allied shipping by the thousands of tons, the only solution was to devise a ship that could be built in numbers that would simply overwhelm the enemy.

Ugly, slow, and capable of about 10 knots on a good day, the Liberties were key in the allied victory in the Atlantic. Many techniques used to speed up thier production, such as welding instead of riveting, and preparing engines and superstructure as pre-fabrications that could be built separately from the hull are now standard shipbuilding practices worldwide

Built by Henry Kaiser in a mammoth shipyard, once his workers had the pattern of building them down, they could produce a new Liberty ship every 4 days, literaly building them faster than they could be sunk

The Jeep.
The Dakota something...can't remember what it was...

#3, Which was due to cold-water metal fatigue on the welds, they weren't built for durability, just speed. Ships that made runs to northern Soviet ports inside the arctic circle were especialy prone to the sudden fracture failure. Eyewitnesses would say everything would be normal, then "BANG" you had two ships where you had one.....

I remembered the amphibious DUKW and Dodge Power Wagon being included in that list...I believe Eisenhower originally made a list of things that won the war in the European theatre.
