Description:
I couldn't figure out how in the world these were supposed to move until I saw this. It's so hypnotic....like a lava lamp. I sure hope lousy PhotoBucket keeps this pic around for a while, it's been working alright for a month or so now, hopefully no more problems will come up.

These are all pretty cool, check 'em out. Oh and feel free to stick this in whatever category you want, I couldn't decide.

That really is a simple lay out. Surprised it didn't catch on years ago.

#5, Not as reliable as piston engines...and not particularly fuel efficient for its size either.

I do really like this animation though...really helps me understand how a rotary engine really works... really.

#5, Mazda's been building rotary-powered cars for 30-odd years.
There's been others, too... NSU sold a rotary-powered car, and Suzuki and Norton sold rotary-powered motorcycles (Norton raced theirs for many years, too.)

It's my understanding that some people even modify them for use in private aircraft, too.

#10, And NSU was put out of business on warranty claims, too. Shame because the Ro80 was a really cool little car.

Mercedes also had a really nice concept sports car built around a wankel at one time, C211 or something I forget what it was called...someone help me out here...

*remembers old thread with a concept vette from the late 70s*

The Corvette almost went rotary too.

It's probably best that it didn't, the wankel wasn't really something to count on until the 13b and it still had problems. Supposedly they've all been solved in the renesis.

Every time I see this picture, I end up staring at it for at least three full minutes.
