#2, I think just about any caked-on substance wouldnt be good for the car, but I believe it does.

#2, Yes. Quite badly. I would strongly recommend going to a car wash after going here.
When we first got our Explorer, the bottom was rusted badly from using it to deploy boats into the ocean. It wasn't pretty, but we had it blasted off.
