Description:
Caption this scene.

What really happened: Coming out of the turn, and onto the straightaway, Carl Long, in the number 46 Dodge that he himself owns, was turned into the wall by another car. His car flipped onto its side, then proceeded roll over ~5 times before ending up on its wheels.

This means that Carl can no longer enter any Cup races, seeing as this was the ONLY Cup racecar he had.

Carl basically kept this car at his house. When he realized there wouldn't be enough cars for last Sunday's race at Rockingham, he installed new shocks into this car, and made the necessary modifications to get it legal to run the race. He called in a few favors from friends to tow the car to the track, and IIRC, those friends were his volunteer pit crew.

#3, Don't be too sad for Carl. He basically entered the race to get last-place finishing money (about ~$54k, IIRC) He has another full-time job, he works on the number 75 Spears Truck team in the Craftsman Truck Series.

I think he was just happy to be IN the race, and to be interviewed on TV because of the wreck.

Oh yeah, one funny thing, the way Carl explained what he saw while his car was tumbling, "I'm coming out of the corner, then next thing I know, I see the track, then sky, and then I see someone in the grandstands eating chicken..."
