What fun is that? And if they were afordable, meaning we could AFFORD them, why would we have to wish? |

I wouldn't mind having a compact car with an inline-4 + FI... Lancer Evo, Impreza WRX STi, Ion Redline. They look fun to drive. |

I guess the question is how you define "affordable". Once my little project is finished, I should have a cheap car with adequate (if not outstanding) power. |

Subaru WRX (for winter driving)
Ford Lightning (for hauling engine parts)
'79 Malibu Station wagon with engine swap (Hardcore Racing 454 small block - yes I said small block).
'87 Buick Grand National
'96 Impala SS |

The 454 smallblock setup is pretty darned expensive, if I recall the article I saw it in. |

WRX would be fun, though. The nice thing about living far enough south, though, is that there's no real need for a "winter beater". |

I thought it was something like that. Impressive little beast, though. |

#6, Lets define Affordable as "something within immediate reach" as in... you could realistically get it within the next few years, i.e. SuperDave's new Vette. |

#13, Good, then my original answer still applies, because I should have that sorted out within the next couple months. :) |

Within the next few years I should be making good money, so it's hard for me to say.
Within my immediate range...err, I guess that blue '68 Volkswagen at the shop that's been sitting since the mid '90s. Stuck in gear, has some body damage, and missing a wheel. |

If all goes as planed within say 5 years I should at least be able to stuff a 351 in a v6 mustang and get myself a '04 cobra or something along those lines. |

meh... I'm planning on just fixing up the monte ss just a bit more to make it driveable - then giving it to the wife as her daily... then get myself a pickup truck.
after that... I want to make a drag only car... leaning towards a foxbody, old Falcon, malibu, or camaro... something without t-tops... that can be lightened, roll-caged, and made to go fast in a straight line. |

on my weekly allowance (being that i don't/can't have a job yet) i could afford a ~$1,000 car from one year's pay. a beater camaro, mustang, or something of the sorts i guess. |
