ecofeminism. As i understand it - the theory that women and feminists issues are a cornerstone to ecology and biological activity - far different than from the infulence of man.
Sexism rolls onward. |

#20, Darts with the giant wings? DARTS?
BTW, I think most people here will admit Daytonas and Superbirds were ugly. Even the public at the time hated them. I appreciate them for their rarity and history. |

Daytonas, I think is what he ment. And anyway, they where 200mph cars, unlike most ricers who have bigger wings and can't break 110. |

pretty much ya. That and the other reason they where so big was so that you cold still open the trunk. Unlike the ricer wings which are bolted to the lid, on the Daytonas, the wing went all the way donw to the frame. |

#25, Yeah, they acted as stabilizers.
It should go without mentioning, however, that it was only the NASCAR versions that went 200 mph. The street version probably topped out between 140-150 mph. |

#27, it's not like it would take that much to get the street version to 200

#28, NASCAR did it with more horsepower, lightened body panels and totally stripped interiors. Today you could probably get the same result just by dropping in an extra couple of gears in a street version. |

#28, THe gearing was the main reason. And the motors were probably tuned a bit differently, but a lot of people claimed that you could take a Superbird right out of the showroom and easily get it to 180. I think you'd be suicidal to try it, especaily on 60's era polyglass bias ply tires, and notoriously weak brakes. |

back in the days - Nascar cars had to have a stock model available to the public (hence the term 'stock car racing')... so that's why the Roadrunner, etc had the wing available to the public. And yes - they allowed Dodge to make a killing in Nascar - so much that they were eventually banned. |
