man, I hate it when it does that. My comp has that same problem. I think you should say "fuck you, Mr. Gates, fuck you"

Basically, it's...

"Microsoft Internet Explorer has decided to crash for no apparent reason, other than to just piss you off and throw away anything important you may have been working on online. Here's a token 'sorry'.

If you were working on anything, well fuck, it's done got lost now. Goodbye."

I was about to do my usual posting of firefox until I remembered you're using the OS that time forgot.

Realistically speaking, though, pretty much all the software engineered for Windows 95, including whatever version of Internet Explorer that must be, is so far beyond "end-of-life" it's not even funny. I rarely run into problems like that (which isn't to say that it doesn't happen at all, but it usually takes a fairly idiotic combination of circumstances to make it happen).

#3, very good summary DiRF. Very good. I think the same way you do about Internet Explorer. It really hates the comp at my moms house. I had to double post several times, because IE would say "program not responding" or whatever, then after I clicked end program, it would load the page with the double-post. Sorry for the inconvinience.

#10, Firebird/firefox does seem more stable most of the time, but I've gotten it to crash a bunch (mainly because I've often used the nightlies, and sometimes those left incompatibilities with each other that forced a delete/reinstall). Right now, I'm actually using Avant Browser because my internet connection here has often been so unstable (in terms of speed) that I kept getting timeout errors with Firefox. Avant, which uses a lot of IE's core (the whole rendering engine, I believe), will wait practically forever for a page to load.

#6, I've done that quite a bit in the distant past with this computer...on certain crappy pages that I would ALWAYS get errors on...I haven't run into a page like that in a while.

I have to say, I know the reason I got this, and it's the same reason I've gotten it twice before...that one user on the Fourms that has that animated Impala flare logo...for some reason, it stops loading, and when I try to reload the image, I get this. I had just happened to click back on the Rice or Not window when the error popped up.

#13, in 0.7 there was something up with the cache (I think it was the problem anyway), whenever it filled it crashed the browser (now of course sometimes clearing the cache disables it). all things considered not bad for beta.

You're probably stuck using IE 5 or 5.5 or something, aren't you?

#16, The freaking timeout thing gets me, though. When the residence halls start sucking up all the available bandwidth on weekday nights, Firefox simply fails to load pages about half the time. But yeah, it's been remarkably stable overall.
