This car started the legacy of Hendrick motorsports, and it was in this car that Geoffrey won the 1984 spring Martinsville race, giving Hendrick his first win as an owner.

I'm trying to think, and I think you have to go all the way back to Daytona in 1994 to find the last time a person in an unsponsored car made a decent shot at anything

That year, Wally Dallenbach surprised eveyone, winning a top 10 starting spot in an unsponsored car, of course, by race day, Hayes had stepped forward to sponsor him for the season, but it was kinda interresting to see a plain-white car with only numbers sitting in the starting grid

#3, Well, remember when Johnny Benson was leading the 2000 Daytona 500 with like, 15 laps to go, in a car that had just gotten sponsorship that MORNING?

It was a plain white car with orange numbers, and some blue Lycos.com logos slapped on the sides and the hood, that didn't match the rest of the car at all...

Very cute, Rick, very cute... for Dale Jr.'s very first official test with Hendrick Motorsports, here's how they painted the car... http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/5atl-cot-test.jpg
