Description:
Dale Earnhardt, famous for starting the "special scheme" trend that's become popular in NASCAR since the late '90s, was going to continue his practice of running a special scheme for the Winston All Star race by running this scheme in the 2001 running of it.

Of course, as you know, he never got a chance to.

With the exception of the number, and the name on the roof, this scheme turned out to be the scheme Kevin Harvick ran (as a 29) for the first two races after Daytona, after those two races, he changed to the scheme he ended up running for the rest of the year, starting at Atlanta. (Which, incidentally, he won.)

I was unaware this was going to be used by DE in the 01' season, I thought they had changed the colors out of respect so to speak, so soon after the accident, they didn't want to have his car still driving around out there........

#2, Well, they had this scheme "waiting in in the wings", so to speak, so they decided to use it out of respect for Dale, rather than having a black Goodwrench car on the track the very next week.

I really wonder how much this specific prototype diecast is worth... I'd imagine over $1000 at least.

...if ActionPerformance didn't destroy it.
