Description:
I decided to put together several cars that I feel represent the "golden age" of large American cars, that is 1949-1977.

#2, I couldn't include everything...I was going to squeeze a '59 Impala in there, but it's similar in many ways to the '59 Cadillac, which is definitely more boatish. I could have included many more, but I ran out of room.

Cool...you included the Catalina I submitted eons ago... (my mother had a light blue 4-door Catalina very similar to that one back in the early '80s...)

#4, I think you definitely got a wide variety of American land yachts with so few choices... I'm not complaining.

Now that I think about it, 1949-1977 were perfect choices of the start and end of that era... '49 was the first year for tailfins (Cadillac), and when cars started the "long and low" look... '77 was around the advent of square headlights and "downsized" cars...

#8, I could've given or taken the ending year...1976 was the last year for GMs really big cars, and 1978 was the last of Ford's. But I went with Chrysler's last...1977...because I happened to have a really good pic of a '77 New Yorker.
