I just happened to find this picture a few days ago... I think this is from when my family took pictures of everything in our house, because there was a hurricane coming, and we decided to have pictures for insurance puposes...

My entertainment in 1995 was a 6 year old 13-inch Goldstar Color TV (with volume and on/off controled by one knob...neato!), an SNES, and a VCR with an appetite for VHS.

Of course, that was just in my room. We had nicer stuff in the living room, which I usually watched. My TV was for X-Files and Nintendo only.

Lesse, I had the bottom-of-the-barrel RCA tv, with a remote that didn't work and buttons that were so worn, you couldn't read which function they did, had to push them to see what would happen. I also had a SNES, but also still had, and regularly used by NES and Atari 2600

I had a 13" TV in my room for years, but around the time I got my Sega Genesis (a few weeks after its release), my parents bought me a 25" TV for my room from a yard sale. I was ecstatic. Immediately hooked up my Genesis, popped in Tommy Lasorda baseball and... WTF? Purple grass?

Anything that was supposed to be green, turned up purple on that TV. But I sure didn't care... it was a 25"!

Wow...having 13" TVs in our rooms when we were younger is quite common apparently. Seen in this picture, cheapass GPX CD player w/ detachable speakers, 13" Samsung TV, SNES...

#8, There wasn't a CD player in my household until around 1999 or so, and I didn't get one of my own until 2002. I was a holdout, believing cassettes to be better. Now I prefer CDs, although mainly because the recording industry kept making cassettes cheaper and cheaper to get everyone to spend more for CDs. I have 20 year old cassettes that are still playing fine, but I also have ones that are maybe 8 years old that got chewed up when they were practically new.

I've still never bought an actual music CD in my life, though, and probably never will. I just buy and record on blank ones.

#9, Same thing happened with 3.5" floppy disks... they used to be good quality, but since no one gives a shit anymore, they only new ones for sale are crappy cheapo ones...

#10, Well, to be honest, who out there uses 3.5's anymore? At this point, you'd be stupid to copy any meaningful info to them because

a. You probably no longer have a floppy drive on your machine
b. It would take dozens of them to get as much on them as CDROMs
c. The computer you want to transfer the file too probably also does not have a floppy drive
d. The internet has pretty much replaced the function of the 3.5 for transferring small files from machine to machine anyway
e. They're a lot more fragile than CD's

#11,
a. I do.
b. yes, that's true, but useless information to me, seeing as I don't have a CD burner.

In a few years, my computer might be able to be carbon dated...

#13, $25...wow. Didn't know they were going for THAT cheap. Thanks for the link, solid. I'll look into that.

Though, I hope it's compatible with Win95 (doesn't say so on the site)...

"OS Support: Windows XP/2000/Me/98SE"
you need to find someone selling 98 for cheap

#15, Don't think my computer could handle it (Win98).

I DID see that "OS Support" on the page... I said "(doesn't say so on the site)" because I didn't see '95 listed.

#17, you can run xp on far less than 400mhz as long as you got at least 64mb of ram...i had an amd k6 380mhz and 64mb of ram, and also a 4-meg video card and xp ran just fine and i even used photoshop 7.0 on it with good results
