I think Honda offers a CBR250 or something like that. I'd recommend looking at it also, they are great for starter bikes.

#9, i remember dirf and a lot of other people on the forums saying that the kawasaki 250 is a really good starter bike

#10, If you don't have much of a budget, I really would suggest the 250cc range of bikes... the Kawasaki Ninja being the best... if you have a bit more to spend, starting out with a ~400cc bike ain't bad at all, and there's MUCH more options in that range, but I'm not familiar with the ~400cc range.

#12, Not when I GOT the Rebel ...didn't learn about the 250R until I moved down to Florida... THEN I got pissed...still am. But then, I was REALLY influenced by my dad when I was living up there... he's a cruiser man all the way...he had two Harleys and an old Beemer cruiser that he was putting a sidecar on when I left.
