A jeep and off road arent the best mix. Toyota landcruser troopy. Now thats a 4x4 they dont even have metalic paint as an option. Only the new ones you can get carpet and coil springs in the front.

best all-round off-road vehicle i've ever seen or been in was a 1982 Toyota 4x4 pickup, the smaller one. I don't remember what they called em, and it only had a I4, but damn if it couldn't off-road better than anything else I've ever seen.

I meant off roading as in going up and down rocky 45 degree angels.

On this end of the planet, older Jeeps ('70s and '80s vintage) are usually the weapon of choice. And yes, I also understand the Landcruisers are good (the early ones basically WERE jeeps).

if you built up some speed first, I'm pretty sure that little toyota could handle it just fine. all it really lacked was the torque of a v8, the suspension was basically what they use in the Baja 1000.

Yeah I will say that the older jeeps are rather good.

That is why you use a desiel they have a lot of torque at low revs.

Best offroaders ever, in my opinion, are older Jeeps and '70s International Scouts and Ford Broncos.
