Description:
I think it's damn funny that so many yanks want to move to Canada if Bush gets re-elected.
Why?
Not only is Canada reguarded as a "safe haven" for the "progressive socially minded" - it's also a country with a different govenmental background.
Constitutional Monarchy. Canada is still run by the British crown. It means we're independent - but still controled by the Queen.
Worried about a draft that Bush might drum up? Sure - come to Canada - we don't have a draft - militay sevice is voluntary! The only problem is that if the Crown decides England is to fight - then Canada is to fight too. If there is mass public objection - the Crown can drop the bullshit and take control of the Canadian Paraliment and force a draft for a war effort at any time it pleases.
Same with India
and Austraila
and New Zealand
and Jamica
and Pakistan
and Kenya
and about two dozen other countries.
So go ahead and come here - just remember the lines to "God save the Queen" and that rememberance day is november the 11th. |

#17 Intelligence is far more than money. He did a way with most of our Human Intelligence; he put restraints on many of our operations. He prevented us from going places we should of been. |

#20, The idea is "united we stand." A couple from Jamica - a couple from Canada - Pakistan - Sudan -
The numbers add up you know. |

#22, How can he do that? The president doesn't control the day-to-day operations of any of the intelligence agencies...all he does is throw money at them. |

I'm not a huge fan of Clinton either, but 8 years of peace and a constantly improving economy isn't bad. Both changed once Bush got into office.
Bush not only inherited a recession but he also inherited 9-11. Clinton did absolutely nothing regarding terrorism. Not after the '93 Trade Center, the Embassy bombings in Kenya, and not after the USS Cole. He just sat behind the desk, rode the good economical luck he inherited, and got hummers. Clinton had several opportunites to get Bin Laden and Hussein and he ignored the opportunites. Clinton had a blatent disregard for the military and it showed.
Bush inherited the economy and 9-11 (which made the economy even worse), so far this year the economy is getting progressively stronger (posting best growth numbers in 20 years) so things are getting back to normal (thank God).

Bush is a man of his word and stays the course no matter how unpopular. John Kerry voted for the war and then voted against the funding for the troops (i.e. body armor, better weapons, tanks, etc) to finance the war. Voting to send the troops unprepared is terrible and he is a bastard for doing it. |

#26, Its just a fact that there is no british queen or prime minister yelling "jump!" and Canada, Australia etc. jump up. They are sovereign democracies and if they don´t agree with Great Britain, they will simply say "Jump yourselves!". |

Clinton actully had a shot at killing Benny. But he was too busy playing golf. Kerry is a big fan of the flip flop play. Whatever is popular at the moment, he'll be there to back it.
#26, its was a joke. |

#29, Really? So in other words, you're saying that the capture and convictions of the WTC bombers (Ramzi Yousef, Abdul Hakim Murad, and Wali Kham Amin Shah), a thwarted plot to blow up 12 airliners at once, the thwarting of the major planned attacks against the UN Headquarters, the FBI building, the Israeli embassy in Washington D.C., airsports in LA and Boston, the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels, the George Washington bridge, and the U.S. embassy and Albania DID NOT occur on Clinton's watch? I could've sworn those all happened between 1992 and 2000.
And BTW, it was Clinton who issued the presidential directive authorizing the assassination of Bin Laden.

#31, We have to agree - lest the Brits come with missles and open fire.
But as for the jumping thing - come now - the queen isn't an dictator.
If she is, all she has to do is enforce it.

#32, Did you read Dereliction of Duty by Robert Patterson?? I have read that book several times and that information sounds like it came from the book. If you haven't I recommend it - it is a great read. |

#34, Basically, thats all I wanted to express. The queen isn´t dictator and by moving to Canada for whatever reason, you don´t place yourself into a highly volatile medieval tyranny.

#32, Benny Hill died in 1992 man
I'm not going to read all this because it seems to be bullshit. I will however say that there were terrorist acts before 2001, some people seem to ignore this. |

#33, Yes there were some terrorist plots foiled here in the states and some perps arrested and convicted. But that is exactly the point. We have captured many in the Al-Qaeda that were responsible for the planning of the 9-11 attacks. But we did not stop there. We brought the war to them on thier turf. Sure the 3 bombers were arrested but they were just pawns. Mean while Bin Laden and his whole network went untouched and were able to plan for the 9-11 attack. They can replace 3 bombers very easily. If Clinton went after the whole network maybe 9-11 could have been avoided.
