Description:
Kurt Busch, 2004 Nascar Nextel Cup champion.

Despite his entire fucking wheel coming off in the middle of the race, he battled back and finished fifth, good enough to win the championship by 8 points over Jimmie Johnson, who finished second in the race.

The closest championship finish in Nascar history. Also, Jeff Gordon finished the championship third, a mere 16 points behind Busch.

At this time last year, I didn't like Kurt Busch or Jeff Gordon, and Ford was my least favorite make in Nascar.

How much things change.

When this ten-race Chase for the Championship started, I was rooting for Kurt Busch, Jeff Gordon, and Mark Martin. What the hell happened to me?!

I'm still a Dodge fanboy though, and Jamie McMurray is still my favorite driver (wooo! He's won a $1 million dollar bonus for finishing eleventh in points, and will be at the awards banquet in December)

Speaking of Nascar championships...I just found out that I have the same birthday as 1950 Nascar champ Bill Rexford.

I still don't like the new format. Auto racing just is not analogous to stick-and-ball sports where you play a whole season for nothing more than to determine seeding for the playoffs. It was only the closest because they threw out all the numbers for the first 26 events and started from scratch.

#1, Well, after all this time, I think I do like Jeff Gordon... I'm ambivalent towards Kurt, but I still hate Ford.

Oh, and I'm pretty much not a Jamie McMurray fan anymore. *shrugs shoulders*
