If I'm decoding the unit identifiers right, this truck was part of a field artillery batallion, the goobeldy-gook of numbers on the bumper is translated by a 1964 Army TSB on proper lettering of vehicles breaks down into somthing like that, it's part of "service group 21" as denoted by the SV21 on the right side

When my father was in Vietnam ('67), he says he saw a 2 1/2 ton hit a mine with one its back wheels, and the truck completely left the ground and landed on its passenger's side. The explosion was so loud (and he was fairly close to it) that it made his ears bleed. Only two guys were in it at the time (in the front), I think he said one was killed and the other was pretty badly wounded.

ya I've seen a couple of the thses when they've come home from Iraq. Did you know they turned a couple of these into rolling gun ships for convy duty back in Vietnam. Maybe we should bring that back.
