#1, Mainstream, money-worshiping hip-hop can eat a dick. Underground hip-hop, on the other hand, is poetic, soulful stuff. Take Madvillain, Anti-pop consortium, El-Producto or Mike Ladd. |

Not all mainstream is bad. Take Dr. Dre for example.. sure his last cd was out three years ago and the next is probably a few more years away, but thats quality stuff. |

#4, Agreed, there is some good mainstream stuff out there. Kanye West's CD is amazing. |

#9, Same here. I listen to everything but rap, R&B, and modern country.
That being said, I did like Coolio's "Gangstaz Paradise". |

#12, Same here too. I prefer music made by real instruments. No sampling or digital noises for me. |

#13, what about the roots? and what about when bands use live instruments at shows to make the beats? does that magically not count since its mimicing something else? and what about djs like dj shadow and rjd2 that make some of the most insanely good music and its very complicated? and then what about techno and such, is that not real music or is is just not prefered and considered noise? |
