Well, we have the head and cam assemblies rebuilt, and now the next major hurdle is to get the timing belts installed and calibrated

The 944 has two balancing shafts on the sides of the motor, the only purpose for them is to cancel out engine vibration, if they aren't timed correctly, the motor will shake horribly and because it's also and interference engine, if the timing belt is off, you'll turn the pistions and valves to scrap......

I swear, I'm never working on another porsche engine after this is over :D

944s are slow stock. Some minivans could keep up with them.

#8, No, read the description again... it's NOT "theirs" (LTR and his dad) It's ExitWound's Porsche.

we'll hopefully have the motor in the car this weekend, it's been a long, slow learning experience piecing it all back together.

#10, Sorry if you've discussed it lately and I missed it, but how's the project with you and your dad's 928 going?

It's on hold, again, low-priority. It runs and everything, it's just got a bad slave cylinder, and before I can get to that, I need to finish THIS porsche, then Aeropar, then my Taurus needs a new oil pan gasket, and then, well, you get the picture...........
