I maintain that this could very well have been the best bodystyle of anything, ever.

I wonder what the next RX-7 will look like, I don't see how they can top this. :/

#4, I honestly don't care what it looks like, as long as it's better than the RX-8

Looks like it's smiling :D

Why doesn't Mazda just continue this bodystyle whilst heavily updating and modernizing the drivetrain, interior, and chassis?

The more important question is, "why haven't they given me one?"

But seriously now... this design does NOT look dated to me... and gawd I love fliplights...

It's a clean, simple design. Heck, I'm very fond of the more recent Miatas because the '99ish bodystyle looks to have been influenced by this.

i dont care for the tail lights, and the rear window can be more hatchback-ish. but other than those small things...(drool)

#8, made more impressive by the fact they were selling them in 1990 or 1991

#11, True, so true. There was magic in the hands of the people who sketches this car on the design table and/or mocked it up in clay.

The mid-life facelift didn't hurt, either.

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooow

The RX-7 is much like the 93-98 Supras. The body styling looks almost ahead of its time and was expired before it should have been.

I doubt the design will ever age, its beautiful! This has to be one of my favorite 90's cars
