I saw this too. Pretty hard to believe that Yahoo has been around for freakin 10 years. I was like a little kid when the internet got big. Damn, time flies :-P

Not as worldwide
No shopping, dating, chatrooms, internet stalkers
and email was hardly used (very little junkmail)

#2, My first venture into cyberspace was Q-Link back in the mid-80s. Then bulletin boards in the late 80s and then Prodigy after that.
As Muntz said, it was slow, ugly, Geeky (and I mean that in the very worst sense of the word) and pretty much useless. I don't think anybody who actually had to deal with 300 baud modems and bulletin boards which could only connect one person at a time has any nostalgia about it.

#4, Haha, I forgot about how nerdy it was. Only the nerdiest of the nerdy had it, surprisingly. My dad had gotten the internet when he started his electronics repair business.
I still remember trying to connect a thousand times because it was always busy. Ahhh, the good old days :-P

Ah the days of Compuserve... now that was geeky... and phone phreaks... heck that was even geekier. I was *cough* there with my 300 baud modem, pirating commomdore 64 software. Sheesh.

I had a 1200bps modem back in the BBS days... and got on CompuServe once... that was to download the move list for Mortal Kombat 2. Geez... that was forever ago. But things haven't changed much... seeing as how I'm on 28.8 now. -_-
