So I'm considering making a cardomain type site and wanted to see if you guys used that site, what you like, what you don't like, etc. Like do you really care about all those random choices they have for mods (ie. Seats, Ignition, Springs, etc.?

Chances are this would just be a side project for a while so don't expect anything anytime soon. I just wanted to see what people might like to have in a site like that.

I think a less ricey version cardomain would be sweet.

#1, Well, for starters, there's no option for "M35A2" when you register :D

#2, Less ricey how? As far as cars on there? Right now I'm leaning towards a gallery with descriptions/stats type thing then the pseudo-web page thing they have going on there.

#4, not the cars, but the random crap you pointed out. also the voting options and that new ride of the week or month or whatever it is. that and the braging rights.

definitely no voting. I think the best way would just be a simple gallery with room for a short description like you mentioned. No selectable backgrounds either, nothing like seeing a logo tiled as the backdrop.

I think it should be just a site with pics and car descriptions. No voting, but allow ppl to comment on the cars.

#10, /renames site and is done with it

Actually, I would allow commenting on the profiles or whatever they will be. I had some ideas of my own and it seems I am going in the right direction from the comments here.

Although all the site is right now is an idea in a text document :)

How big would the site be? in terms of how many cars it will have.

#12, Yea, I would definitely have to build a pretty good admin interface for moderators. That will probably take the longest to do.

#14, Yeah Troop. I remember when I asked you about being a mod on here back when you first started RoN..:p

Comments on the cars would be cool, as long as they stay on topic. I agree with the no voting. Perhaps different car categories too? Like Rally, Pro Street, Pro Touring, etc etc.. That way, you could have different rides of the week for each group. Little of something for everyone.

#16, The categories thing might not be a bad idea... I'll have to think that one over.

At the time you asked I probably was able to run this place myself so I didn't think I needed any. The site seems to do ok with 2 mods as it's not the busiest site in the world. Just kind of a cozy mini-community of regulars.

i think it would be a good idea basic catagories like car, truck, muscle car, exotic. I think it would be cool to do like a car of the week or month thing. But not like a ranking system. just like car of the day or something. Then either post on the cars like here ,or post on the persons profile
