#5, Well it's rare, but IMHO anyway, it's still ugly, FWD, crude, wobbly, tacky and slow. |

Yeah, but you should know, judging by your love of the AW11, that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
As for slow, that again depends on your taste for speed. These Indy versions had 215 horsepower at 6500 rpm, and the car itself weighed around 2700 lbs. Definately good enough for me. Same thing goes for FWD. not everyone is a fan of it, but it's not that bad, as proven by VW many a times.
The coupe version was offered for sale to the public, but I'm not sure if they had the 215 hp or not.

#7, Oh believe me I know the AW11 is an aquired taste, and though I'll sing it's praise 'til my last breath, I'm the first to admit it gets no respect. 215 HP isn't bad, I have to admit, are these quad4 powered? I also have to admit my rabid hate of J bodies, these cars were just (to me, at least) so friggin' cheaply engineered, and I bet this thing flops like a dead fish over railroad tracks, doesn't handle (notice I didn't say grip, anything can be made to grip) and still has white vinyl seats and decals, which is just plain tacky. |

Oh, and judging by Audi/VWs FWD chassis' inert, rubbery steering and unresponsive handling, I'd hardly say that's a good argument for FWD. A far better one would be the Focus, or (wince) Integra Type R, even the (not sold here... :( ) Renault Clio 182. |

I'm almost positive it was Quad 4 powered. This was based on the N body platform, not the J. It was raced in 90-91 (I forget the year) and was fitted with the special W-41 suspension.
In my opinion, the N body chassis is a little more refined then the J body.
I should note though, that I am a huge fan of the AW11.:) |

#10, correct. but w41 is for the cams and heads, good for about 190hp. the suspension was FE3. a more than decent suspension setup for a FWD car. but i believe that the Quad4 was developed a bit later than this. or this may be a prototype to spark interest. The AW11 is more commonly known as a MR2 right? if so i really like those. |
