Well... PETA people deserve to be shot (I wonder how many of them wear leather shoes o_O) but one cannot deny there are a lot of retards who enjoy torturing animals. In Poland there are more and more victims of aggresive dogs: mostly their owners who tortured tem all the time.

Not a big fan of PETA myself either, but life deserves respect, The conditions under which many farm animals are kept is tantamount to torture. People have pets and keep them chained outside 24/7 without proper food, water or shelter. Much animal testing serves no purpose at all.
Yes, I eat meat. Yes, I wear leather shoes. And yes, I use pharmceuticals. All of this has it's place in the grand scheme of things. Let's just treat animals like sentient beings -- is that really too much to ask?

I agree with 1 and 2. I don't see a need for most labatory animals and farm animals need to be treated better. Also that video where they showed people beating those animals against the ground to make fur coats made me sick to my stomach.

I was thinking about this the other day and came up with a great way of looking at it. as far as testing on rats and mice, they helped kill 1/3 of ethier the whole human population or the population of Europe (don't remeber which it is) with the Black Plaque. so once mankind got to the point where it needed something test on, the first scientist though about which animal has pissed us off the most, which was the rat. so like they say, payback a bitch

#4, It's just a technicality, but it was the fleas on the rats, not the rats themselves, which spread the Black Plague.

#1-#2, Agreed. One does not necessarily dishonor or disrespect an animal by killing it. I don't think that humans are above any other animal, which is exactly why I don't have a problem with killing them. They kill each other without a second thought.
