I like my music to be real. That is written, produced and sung by real people with real emotions and real artistic ambitions, not soulless, cynical, recycled, committee-written garbage whored off by pretty young empty things with less soul than your average household appliance. |

#4, UGH! Don't start me on that little whore... the fact she calls herself an "artist" with a straight face is such an insult to real, struggling artists with independent thought and actual creative minds that it makes me want to, well, dismember her... slowly, with a rusty razor blade. I read an interview with her in my wife's Cosmo and when asked if there was any other "artist" her age she liked, she replied "no". Just like that. I HATE MANUFACTURED POP!!! |

#5, What really made me want to maul her was when I saw (on German Viva station) her version of "Koncking on Heaven's Door". I actually got up from my chair and said "fuck-no" aloud. |

#6, Yeah dude, 'cause she's just so fucking rock 'n roll it hurts... I mean, just look at that outfit! You odon't get much more rock than $800 sandals and designer jeans in Beverly Hills. |

#8, Eh, Metallica had long murdered themselves into weakness and self-parody by the time Fuel was released... if anything I can imagine her version being harder. |

#9, "Fuel" was one of their best songs. And regardless of what anyone says, I think that the "Reload" era was a pretty good time for them. Not like their "And Justice For All" era where every one of their songs sounded like generic thrash metal with a drummer unable to even keep a straight beat. |

#10, Dude, I know it's a matter of opinion, but the 80' era stuff leading up to the Black album (the beginning of the end) was some of the most amazing metal ever made up to this point. The way their music used to be written was almost mathmatically complex, like classical it was so layered with time changes and back beats... it had atmosphere, it had soul, it sounded like it meant something. "Gimme fuel gimme fire gimme that which I desire, ugh" sung to a lame, recycled half ass guitar riff is not what I call worthy of Metallica's former greatness. Anyway, that's my opinion, you are certainly entitled to yours, I just had to put in my two cents. |

#11, It depends on the song. "For Whom the Bell Tolls", "Fade to Black", "One", "Master of Puppets", "Sanitarium", etc. are all excellent songs, some of their best in fact. But it's not until one listens to an entire album by them that one realizes most of their songs are pretty forgettable. They seriously all start sounding the same. |

#12, That's a problem endemic of all metal really. BTW, a couple of future classics are Mastadon's and Dillinger Escape Plan's new CDs. |

#13, Therion for me ;)
But this isn't a band for everone...
But... Their songs are totally different. From almost pop ballads, to great, mighty, symphonic pieces, from moody goth pieces to good old headbanging growls... Therion has it all I guess. |
