If I had the time and money, I'd rescue this and drop in a 4AGE/5 Speed with big discs and 15" Deep-dish Charcoal-colored Watanabes... goddamn that'd be sweet as hell. The rear windows roll down, just like older American coupes. It was full of interesting little details, and built like a BRICK! Really hope someone rescues this car.

Anyone have a CarFax account? I'm interested to see what the VIN would turn up.

I've posted it on the MR2OC.com boards hoping that someone in SoCal will snap it up and rescue it. I'm seriously thinking of asking how much the yard would charge to tow it to my friend's garage in Ontario... I just hope they don't know what it's worth.

#11, Seems that person went over their limit and can't do any more searches :( Oh well, it seems carfax only allows cars 1981 and newer anyway.

"Wow.

I owned a 1969 Corona Coupe in San Diego and put it in the junkyard many years ago.

By the way, it was named "sam." " - From a post of this car I put up in MR2OC.com. The guy now owns an Elise! Looks like someone is picking the car up Friday! Holy crap!

#13, now thats sweet. I found something sweet as hell awhile back. I found an older MR2 in a MN junkyard with almost NO rust. Twas a 1988 and had been putn to rest in winter of 1990.

#16, The guy that was going to do it has decided not to after all... he's got 3 MR2s and a dune buggie already. I called my friend Dan in Ontario, he's selling the Ro80 to make space. I've called the yard and they will sell it to me for $500 but won't transport it that far. I'm going to my in-law's tonight for dinner and I'm gonna see if Gil (my father-in-law, and the coolest guy ever) will use his buggie's trailer to tow it behind 34413. This old GTR will give you an idea of what I have in mind for appearance: http://tanetane92.web.infoseek.co.jp/017311.jpg and http://tanetane92.web.infoseek.co.jp/017321.jpg but who knows how long it may take to finance that. I've been spending HOURS a day dreaming about this one guys, and this may be the car that gets me to sell one of my 'Twos. I might sell the 16V, but I'm a bit more emotionally attacthed to that one as I've had it longer and it was my first. If I sell the 20V I'll be swapping in a 16V supercharged (makes it more valuable...

... and the cost difference for me would be minimal) and dropping the 20V with a 6 speed into Coronita, as she's been dubbed by my wife: http://www.apb.es/APB/WEBROOT/webdi.../img/drumpe.jpg wouldn't that label make a great hood graphic? Anyway, I'll keep you updated. If I do it, I'll start a webpage to document it.
