Yeah, right.
I was in grade school from 1957 to 1963 so I remember this very well. We'd alternate between fire drills, tornado drills and atomic drills.

#2, That always cracked me up. "If you duck and cover your head with your hands, you won't get vaporized!"
It was just a placebo to quell the kidlets and keep people from panicking.
