The ONLY acceptable wing over two feet on a 60s era muscle car, or any muscle car for that matter. But when your have 375 hp @ 4600 rpms and 480 ft lbs of torque @3200 rpms and goes from 0-60 in 5.5 seconds with a top speed of 160 mph, it may serve a purpose. |

#8, Those were the specs of the 440, the optional (fabled) engine was the 426 Hemi w/425 horses designed for racing. The 69 Daytona had a drag coefficient of .028, better than most modern cars, but it would've produced less drag w/o the spoiler oddly enough. Buddy Baker set a 13 year world record for landspeed in one back in the spring of 1970, he got it going 200.447 mph at Talladega, the record was broken by about 1 mph. I got my specs messed up, it was the Plymouth Superbird that had a top speed of 160 mph, the Daytona, as stated before, could go 200. |
