Apparently, the EXP was what the Probe eventually replaced, after public uproar prevented it from being the Mustang replacement.

I never quite understood the EXP... it seems like it was a car that didn't need to exist... either in its bug-eye non-Escort phase, or during it's Escort "I wanna be a Mustang" phase...

#3, isnt the EXP supposed to be rare or somthing... and i also heard somwhere that they accually handled pretty decent for a ford... despite their unreliability

back in (reaches for cane) oh, 1987, I street raced a dickhead classmates EXP against my mom's mighty '84 2.4L Nissan 2wd King Cab - 120hp I think... the people behind us fell asleep from the sheer excitement of watching 2 hi-po cars battle it out ;)

anyways, the cars stayed perfectly together, 'cept everytime he shifted I gained a foot... (I had a 3 spd auto). I had my brother as a passenger and about 200pds of bricks in the back - lol.

At least I never had to hear that guy brag about his 'sports' car again...

wasn't there a faster turbo version? or am I mixing that up with the 2.3L stang?
