The Polara Chassis were the cars that Mopar used to make Dodge Ramcharger Superstocks, they were built at the factory as drag cars w/ minimal street trim, they had no heaters, no radio, no warranty of any kind ,but they did have Hemi engines, and enough structural bracing that they could take gobs of punishing torque wihtout bending. They were sold to racers who would then gut them even further and go racing, a few were bought by performance craving folk for daily driver use, only 1 of them is known to still exsist today. |

low tech, the ramcharger cars were produced by a dealership... and some are in existence. Cuda_man and I spend all day saturday at the Hayes Mopar Weekend at Atlanta Dragway... where we saw a documented Ramcharger car and a Coronet 440 bodied car with a Ramcharger 426 non-hemi powerplant. |

Oh, darn, then the book I read was wrong, they had them listed as special-order factory cars. I meant to add that the 1 I was talking about was the only example of one from it's model year that had it's body acid-dipped to shed extra weight

Dodge did build some of them from the factory. I think most of them were 426 Max Wedges. |

in that case (the acid dipped car)... what you read sounds correct. In any case, they were bad ass! |

#11, Yep, that's the one, but it had a Hemi because it was ordered with a Max Wedge, but by the time the order was processed at the factory, the Max Wedge had been discontinued |

For me...i would take the 426 Wedge anyday! It weighs a good bit less than the Hemi, makes the same HP, and is much easier to tune and maintain (ask any mopar guy) |
