I'm sensing bad design work. That back is uncomfortable to look at. Just like the model. Matter of fact, everything about that site is uncomfortable.

#6, I think it's deliberate, and not a result of bad planning. They're probably dumping either the exhaust flowing through the wastegate or the gases that have flowed through the turbo impeller directly to the atmosphere rather than merging it all back together again. I doubt there's enough space back there for that; those cars are tiny.
I don't care for the chrome plate, though.

#7, I dunno. They still could have made the right pipe slightly bigger by 1/2 diameter.
Giving them the benefit of the doubt, maybe there were serious clearence issues on the right side or they were concerned with losing torque.

#8, Losing torque? Backpressure is the bane of a turbochargers existence. Lemmings probably right about just venting the wastegate instead of merging the two.
