It's probably just some screwed up colors. The wheels almost match the bridge in the top of the photo and that is most likely not pink. Probably red wheels :)

The pink wheels make sense to me, for the reason stated in #4... rather interesting idea... not the best aesthetic choice in the world, but really not all that bad.
